Ok, we’ve had some great success with Halo 2 & Halo 3 Tournaments. The turnouts are great and there’s always great prizes. Our first Halo 2 Tournament had the Legendary Edition of Halo 3 as the 1st prize. The National Halo 3 Tournament gave away $2,500 in-store credit. Too bad our Bloomington, MN store didn’t have the top winner. Oh well. Our Halo 3 2v2 Tournament gave away over $200 in-store credit for the 1st prize.
The question is this: Wouldn’t it be cool to have monthly tournaments? We can mix things up and make it a different game type each time. Players could win some awesome in-store credit to spend on anything in the store. We’ve been tossing around the idea and I thought what a better place to bring it up than HaloBuds.com!

Its a good idea and id definately love to see some tournaments going round but itd be awesoem if bungie would let it be hosted in a special tournament style playlist added on, much like the dlc playlist. then everyone could take a shot at it. then have the playlist only open to a player untill they lose a game then total up points at the end of the day? itd take a lot of help from bungie but it would be cool
Sounds awesome, tell me when and where. :o)
We have a specific rule sets for a couple types of tournaments based on MLG. The tournaments I would plan (at least for now) would be In-Store tournaments not over LIVE. There is such a thing as the Host Advantage and which actually get eliminated when playing over LAN. We have 8 HDTVs in the store all connected and ready to go.
We have some stuff to flesh out, but the Monthly tournaments are something I really want to get going.
but that wouldnt work, most people dont know about tournaments untill after theyve happened and even still, most people cant get there/ wont be bothered to travel. if we can yell at bungie till they make a tournament playlist then the problem will be solved permanently =]
I think that the should have somthing on halo that will tell us where and when the tournaments will be held, and make it so we can get to it at our houses.
I’d love to go to wherever it is as long as it’s in MN (Minnesota).
