Wordpress does allow the ability for users to post here; You just have to give them access to it, and when they post, you'll see that it's waiting to be moderated. They get various titles (editor, author, contributer) that you can have applied to determine if their post is/isn't moderated.

As far as plugins go, I don't know what features you want specifically, but you can go to http://wp-plugins.net to see the plethora of ones already available. Another site that can help you out with tricks/hacks can be http://wpdesigner.com and http://weblogtoolscollection.com.

Hi Raine,

I know... The sweet love we're getting from Google and Yahoo are difficult to give up, but I'm not too worried - SEO is a huge part of my day job (no halobuds.com does not pay the bills) so I'm confident we can get it back in time.

The fact is we want to take the site to the next level and I'm not sure WordPress is up to the task.

If you've got some killer WP mods in mind that can help include more HaloBuds and help us all continue the discussion and love of Halo, lemme know -- I can be talked out of switching.

Any reason why you guys are going to make the switch from Wordpress to another CMS? There's a bunch of plugins that you can add to get the functionality that you're looking for, without having to worry about losing your permalinks (for those posts you've already established with Google SEO.)

I'd stay far far from Joomla and Drupal--at least it terms of design. You have to go through so much horrible coding to get it clean and to even get anywhere of getting it to how you want it. They've got a bunch of awesome modules to add, but meh, I want clean, and valid code already.

I've played around a bit with modx, but didn't give it enough to find out what all it had. I was just looking for a basic CMS to manage pages and subpages--not a blog.

Anyway, if you guys need any help coming up with a design, I'd be more than willing to contribute some time/effort. I'm better at webdesign than I am with Halo ;)

If I can remember, I'll shoot you an email if you are interested though. ;)
