I’ll never forget the day I met you. It was way back in November of 2001. I was hanging out at the mall and happened to pass by a GameStop. At the time I was just finishing a terrible relationship with a crazy taxi driver and was not looking for anyone new.

But there you were - standing so tall and proud in that GameStop window. (Wow you look good in uniform!) My friends and I hovered closer to the window to admire your beauty. I remember the throbbing beats of my heart as I pressed my palms against the glass and gazed into your indestructible golden visor…

I remember that day as if it were yesterday. And here we are today, so many years later, still together.

But it hasn’t been easy.

In fact, we’ve been through many hostile environments together. Environments so chaotic that I thought we’d be better off alone. And times when I’d rather Forge myself than co-op with you. The truth is - there have been several times when I haven’t been faithful over the years. Yet you’ve somehow managed to forgive me and keep “us” intact.

I don’t know how you do it, Master Chief, but that’s one of reasons I love you.
