Interview With HaloTube Creator

HaloTube LogoLast night I had the pleasure of speaking with slurpee, one of the co-creators of HaloTube.org. Somehow it turned into an interview… because I started to beg. Here’s the goods:

HaloBuds: You’re one of the creators of HaloTube.org? How many creators are involved?

slurpee: Well, I am the original creator of HaloTube. I started the whole project off but I was definitely looking for some help. So I asked around and found H1M. We got to talking and in the end with both run HaloTube.org now.

HaloBuds: How’d you come up with the idea?

slurpee: Well, after looking around on the web I came across numerous YouTube look-a-likes. So I was like “There is no HaloTube!” I thought it might be a good idea so it took off from there.

HaloBuds: You must be a web programmer then?

slurpee: Yes I know some H-T-M-L!

HaloBuds: How often do you play Halo?

slurpee: Well between school, work and life. Not as much I used to. But I do get on when I feel like pwning some newbies!

HaloBuds: Do you have a favorite video currently on HaloTube.org?

slurpee:
I can go with this one: http://www.HaloTube.org/m/view/189/rhc-apocalypse/ Gives a little laugh!

HaloBuds:
Cool. I’ll watch that in a bit. What’s the benefit of using HaloTube.org vs. YouTube?

slurpee:
Bigger file limit, no time limit on movie, way easier to find a good Halo movie, better quality, larger video player with full screen. The list goes on. Oh Yeah… And I’m cooler then YouTube of course!

HaloBuds:
Obviously. I tried to interview the creators of YouTube. They respectfully declined.

slurpee: (laughing)

HaloBuds: Is HaloTube.org free? Can anybody join?

slurpee: Well yes it is free for everyone in the world. You really only need to sign up, if you want to upload some of your bad ass movies!

HaloBuds: Describe the “Groups” on HaloTube.org. What’s that all about?

slurpee: Yes. This is one of the features of HaloTube.org that not a lot of people know about. This is where you can make your own MySpace-like page for your group or clan. You have your own URL with your own set of forums. You can add members and share all your videos with each other. It’s free to create a group as well!

HaloBuds: Fantastic feature. Great idea. Anything else you’d like to add?

slurpee:
Just like to thank HaloBuds for the interview and all the members of HaloTube! And go visit HaloTube.org!

Awesome. It’s always cool to know what goes on behind the scenes or how something got started.
