Hello loyal Halo Buds,
Yes, we’ve been gone for a while and I’m very sorry about that.
The truth is, the buds got busy with life, work and other online ventures over the past month and we couldn’t devote the time to this website.
Unfortunately, HaloBuds.com fell to the bottom of the “to-do” list.
Sucks. I know.
Let’s get real for a second…
If this site made any money, we’d still be posting daily. However, we still can’t make more than 50 cents per day from the ads on this site.
HaloBuds.com gets ok traffic. About 250-350 unique visitors every day - which is good considering we haven’t posted anything in a while. (We were at 550/day when posting consistently)
— Side Note : We never advertised this site. Ever. Strict SEO and writing good content is all we did - seriously. —
Lately, we’ve been considering every possible direction for this site, but haven’t come to any solid decision.
Honestly, we love Halo 3 as much as anybody. Heck, I suck at the game and I still love it - even when I lost a match 25 to -2! (True Story!)
BUT… Spending an hour or two every day writing posts, approving comments and answering emails sucks when you’re not getting paid. As you already know: It’s all about the Benjamins.
One thing is for sure… if this site is to continue on - we need help because the original Halo Buds don’t have the time right now to keep this thing going.
If you’re willing to write helpful posts about Halo 3, Xbox Live, etc… Then you should let me know immediately because you can become an author.
We’d like to see if the Halo Community will unite and contribute to this site. The more the merrier.
It’s the only way to keep it going.

Here are some comment ideas:
- Allow users to register an account, and allow those registered users to be approved. Any future comments will be pre-approved so you won’t have to worry about moderating.
- Allow users to comment like “regular” (name, email, url) and have a captcha form to prevent [most] spam from going through. You can then just moderate AFTER comments are posted, so you don’t have to worry about too much.
If you really think that you need to make money in order to post here, then you kind of lost sight on why you originally created this website. When I created a blog on a movie, I didn’t do it in hopes of monetizing it but in hopes of being the #1 source for the movie, so people came to it to see what’s new on it. Spending >hour on it isn’t that daunting. Especially if you can get other volunteers to help you out.
If you do want to monetize it, personalize it with graphical ads that people purchase from you. And of course just a better layout altogether.
I’d hate to see this die just because you don’t have any profit to justify the time spent on the site.
Hey Ill become an author and you don’t have to pay me!(p.s. you probably wouldn’t anyway but still…) Ill happily post for you while life takes it’s toll. and trust me i have better grammar than this. I would like to become an author because i know a-lot of people like this site but when theres no new posts you just find yourself overlooking the website. Then you just forget about it. if you’d like me to become an author then send me a text on XB-live and ill respond.
p.s. I can’t get on till about after five in the spring cause of football. I’m on almost every day except for then.

If your looking for moderaters and especially authors id be happy to volunteer. i cant be online every single day due to college and other such commitments, but this is one of the best halo resources i have found and has an excellent community. if your prepared to have me i will happily pitch in.
