Still can’t find any “official” description for the Mauler, but I’ve got an idea what it would say. For starters, the Mauler is a powerful weapon–Almost as powerful as the shotgun. Like the shotgun, the Mauler is a close-quarters and short-range weapon.
If you can get right next to your opponent, close eough to melee attack, just fire the Mauler. It will knock your enemy dead. Pretty stinkin sweet.

Not to mention Dual Wielding these babys. Unreal. If you can’t find another Mauler, dual it with a Spiker and you’re in for a good time!
forget duel-wielding the mauler…it’s far more effective on its own.

2. fire, and then immediately melee
3. death
You’re right, the Mauler is a great melee weapon - especially after shooting. And it’s one of the faster melee weapons too. Plus, I’m always a little concerned when dual wielding any weapons cause I can’t toss grenades. And I love tossing grenades.

The Mauler is very effective in close quarters (shoot - malee combo always works). When used with stealth tactics, you can quickly pick up double kills. Very good for the Narrows map when opponents jump from one end of the map to another - wait till they land then execute the classic two-hit combo. Classic
