Team Swat, so far the notorious double experience weekend favourite of Bungie. However it seems that soon this playlist will join the ranks of Halo 3’s other regular playlists as a ranked DLC permanent varient.

For those who havent played Team Swat yet, the gametype plays exactly the same as Team Slayer but with several alterations too the player in-game stats. Players find that their movement radar has been completely removed, meaning that anyone who prefers to scan their radar for opponents will find themselves at a disadvantage to those who like to visually sweep rooms as they go. All players also have no shields and massively increased health. While this means you take much more hits to die, a single headshot will kill you and your health will replenish at a much slower rate than shields do. Overall the games place much more focus on controlled fire, keen observation and fast reflex.

With this becoming a permanent ranked playlist, its fairly safe to say that the game lobbies will be heavily populated, especially considering its cult status among Halo 2 fans. However, Bungie stated in a double exp weekend anouncement, that the playlist will be DLC. Supposedly, only players with Legendary and Heroic map packs will be able to compete, which will alleviate many consumerist based complaints. At any rate, it seems likely that theres going to be a lot of Battle Rifle headshot masters running amok in the near future…
