Unfortunately, Bungie decided Purple Reign wasn’t going to work with the upcoming DLC release. Bummer. No big deal, they’re planning on releasing some other map that sounds like it will be good.
Of course that’s a guess because they won’t say anything about it - other than it’s going to be good.
Wonder if I guarantee we’ll have to pay for the new maps…
Is it possible that Bungie/Microsoft won’t make Halo 4 and will keep creating new maps and DLC for Halo 3?
Sounds like a solid business plan because Halo fans will be playing this game for years to come. Bungie knows this and I’m sure they’ll push the pay-to-play DLC at us until Halo 4 comes out.
My guess is we’ll be tempted to purchase new maps, game types, updates or anything else so that bungie can collect another 10, 20 maybe even 50 bucks out of all of us Halo 3 owners (over the next few years) without actually releasing another game - Strictly DLC. Sounds like easy money.

its irritating for sure. to buy a game then get more money leeched out of you?
but seriously, bungie made a good game and sold it. we bought it. they dont HAVE to make DLC for us but they do. the quality of the maps alone should show just how much manpower and effort went into them and its hardly unreasonable of a company to ask for money for their work.
i dont mind paying a couple of quid for a new map. as long as it has forge potential ill happily get DLC for as long as bungies prepared to make it =]
i think that halo 3 is one of those games that will be played for many years to come. all that im saying is that halo 4 wouldnt be a bad idea because i still questions about the ending of halo 3. just a tip to you guys at bungie- keep it fresh.

I’ll buy just about any new maps they offer. However, I’d love to see some DLC with an extra / bonus campaign mission, new skulls… anything to add to the campaign would be sweet.

Agreed. Halo 3 will be played for YEARS and that’s what makes it different from most other games - People tend to hang on to the Halo games. And play them.
In fact, I got Orange Box recently and all of the HaloBuds pushed it aside already. It’s collecting dust and is going to be sold very soon.
no matter how much the dlc costs. im probably still gonna buy it. but yeah bungie made a good move on the legendary map pack by having bungie pro free for a month. i dont even have 20 things to put up there. lol
